That is Hugh Hawthorne's car.   I believe it to be the wrecked Darlington Road Runner, rebuilt as a Superbird.

Interesting photo -  The striping is pre-77 white. petty ran a black pin stripe in 77.

Most interesting item is the bar construction under the hood.  That weird shaped "thing"....

I recall seeing it on a mid 70s built Dodge chassis currently being turned into a re creation of a famous 69 Daytona, out West...

The later built Petty style cars have that "nub" on each bar to connect a center bar between the two sides.        If you look around, you will see it on other #43 cars.

Note: non removable "PITA" bars... This is the chassis being converted into a Ray Elder 69 Daytona.  Appears to be an old mid 70s Petty Charger...

I would say that it is "Petty like", meaning it could have been built out west using the Petty fabricated front clip.    Some other parts of that car look strange to me.   One thing it is not is the Daytona, even though it is now wearing that skin.
