Hey gang..
Just got these Clement GN wheels and Goodyear GT II's from Steve for the Daytona. They are powdercoated silver, but I want to go black. I painted two real quick with decent rattle can and voila... Whatcha think? I'm planning on taking the Daytona with this Grand National Stock Car look to the AeroWarrior Meet at Texas Motor Speedway for the Indy Firestone 550....

Yes, I agree.... Since these are real NASCAR wheels by Clements, the holes are larger than OEM, so they require special lugnuts. If I can't get them in chrome, I will chrome them.

Troy call me crazy but I do not like them. Just my opinion but personally not a big fan of anything that is not stock appearing on a Daytona.

Indygenerallee

Those are pretty close to a "stock car" Daytona!!  :smilielol:

That is a great !!!!!!!!!! look, do they still produce those new or did you find a set hiding in some old racers garage? What width did you go with?

The wheels look very good in black!   Glad you made the deal.

As you know, race cars don't have chrome lug nuts.   I personally think chrome on that particular application looks cheesy.   What you have on there now looks good.  Don't let me stop you if chrome is the look you want.

They look just like the wheels I got for mine only I had the rim part done in chrome and got chrome center caps.  I got 5 - one for the spare just in case something happened end and I couldn't get another made.  I thought I read somewhere the actuall race rims had a bigger bolt pattern.   I guess I like the cheesy look :D.

Aero426

Yes, real race wheels are 5 x 5" bolt pattern.    These are made by Bart wheels off the original Clement Wheels tooling.   They will custom make them for the street 5 x 4.5" bolt pattern.

Now you need to radius those front wheel well openings. and drop it a couple of inches

Well.......................... Not sure about the radius thing,  but the lowering gig I just might look into.......  As long of course the OEM suspension can handle it...

I have to agree.  What you have now looks great.  I think I'd black out the dust caps while your at it.

A383Wing

yea...I think blacked out dust caps and chrome acorn nuts would look good...I'm not to keen on the lug studs being seen through the lug nuts...again, this is my opinion...we all have different tastes

Didn't some Roadrunners come with bare steel wheels & chrome acorns?

Bryan

i'd black out the lug nuts, too, like on the race car

On his other thread he was looking for another 255-60-15 to replace the cut tire

Are these the same centers?

If they are not the same, they are very similar.

I'd almost want to see them in orange?

I've batted around the idea of getting them is chrome for the Marty car, a la the 80's racers.
