Is that the correct radiator for 1969?

a non-axle package car would have a 22" radiator in it, and they looked like that.

Its interesting they blacked out the bottom side; most rotisserie jobs get the correct  primer/overspray or are body color.  Maybe the object was to make it a driver?

Well,,,, depends...... If you want as "correct" a restoration of any car, you need to mimic it. So, with that said, this car may have had undercoating. So, a primered/overspray paint job would be just the first step in the process. Now, granted, the undercoating on this car is excessive.....

Got pretty happy with the red paint on the brake drums, didn't they?   :o

Nice looking car!

P.S.  Hey TanTop - school me on what makes you think the firewall is an A/C unit...  I'm not up on what to look for on that topic.   :scratchchin: :shruggy:

Makes sense - thanks!

OK then, what's an A/C firewall got to do with this C500 which doesn't have H51 on the fender tag... is this a rebody (where they welded up the unnecessary holes during the restoration), or did they just grab the wrong photo for the ad?

Also - if that's the car, they apparently replaced the roof too - since there's no A-pillar in the firewall photo either.   :o

:2thumbs:   that thought of a mixed up picture crossed my mind too  :scratchchin:

Yeah, I'd say it's for sure the same car judging by the same aftermarket master cylinder cover and a few other details.  Nice catch.  It does look like they found the right 22" radiator and corrected a few other details along the way.

That car on the rotisserie (the photo in primer, that is) also looks like it has a 26" radiator yoke rather than a 22", so unless they did some MAJOR hacking and/or rebodying, I would guess they just grabbed the wrong photo for the current ad.  The rotisserie photo in B5 shows a 22" radiator yoke, incidentally.

Danny (69_500) can finally solve the mystery of what "B5" car was in the previous thread too, assuming he didn't come across the information from another source.

69_500

I tried my hardest to get ahold of anyone who actually attended that auction to verify the VIN on the car that sold months ago, but no such luck. I called and left a message for the person selling the car on ebay as well. I did have the VIN to this Y2 car and partitial information. I had the car as being Y2 but that it had been painted Blue a long time ago too. So maybe that is why it just recently was restored and painted B5 again? Not sure. Will try to find out. I did ask in my voicemail message about the firewall picture as well.

Side note, Geno, good to see you posting more on here lately.

Probably makes no difference, but the 'new' rotisserie photo is likely the same A/C chassis as before - judging by the larger 26" radiator yoke opening.

Good spot never noticed that.

Sigh, so in the past two weeks a rebodied 69 R/T Hemi and now this car does not look too promissing.

In case anyone searches in the future here is the VIN

The A-pilar does not start until 8-9 inches behind the cowl and then it angles away from the view of the photographer. I think its just the angle of the photo.

After thinking about it, you're probably right.  I found a photo of my car on the rotisserie from a somewhat similar vantage point, and the roofline really doesn't stick out like I thought it should at first.

Sorry for the false alarm - carry on...   :misbehaving:
