I'm hoping someone can help me out. I bought a new power steering box and pump for my 383 Charger, I also bought new lines but I'm having trouble figuring out a connector I need on the gear box. unfortunately I cannot post a pic of what I need, but I know there are some very smart people here that probably already know what I'm talking about.
Any help is appreciated.

The steering box fitting (the factory calls it an adapter) has straight threads on the steering box end and a flare fitting on the hose end. All steering box valves are threaded 1/2"-20 but there are two different flare fittings depending on the year...pre-'70 used the 5/16" flare, '70 and later are 1/4" flare.

Check the steering box end of your hose, if a 7/16"-20 bolt will thread in it's 1/4", if a 1/2"-20 bolt will thread in it's a 5/16".
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

ok, it's a 70 383 motor but in a 68 Charger if that makes a difference. it's a piece bolted onto the gear box with 2 small bolts so the hose with hose clamp can attach to the gear box.

And thank you for your help!

That's the return hose fitting, different than the pressure fitting I described above. It, too, comes in two sizes, the one on the left in the pic below is correct for your car. No idea where to find one.
