Got it.. My 1st E-body... '70 Challenger TA

Hey gang..
Well, the time has arrived and I am officially an E-body owner... So, is there a secret E-body hand shake? It is pretty darn nice. I meet my friend Rick and Tammy who I've known for a LONG time back in my Active Duty Air Force days at Carswell AFB. I sold the black Daytona clone and bought this. With the money I had invested in the Daytona clone, the amount I sold it for and the purchase price of the TA, I have... ohhhhh, bought a TA for $6000..

I drove it on base before we loaded it...... Man, it was nice driving a 4speed again........

Now, it is home next to the other race car, the Daytona......

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I've never had an e-body and would like to feel how they drive. (a bucket list for car guys is a big bucket). Was close to ordering a new challenger in 1970 but bought a 69 super bee instead.   :shruggy:
That looks like a nice example and a great investment for your cost.

Wow, very nice!

The last time I saw a 70 R/T Challenger in the rear view mirror on my trailer, a 18 wheeler took out the driver side quarter about thirty years ago.

Hey Trav... That I am it looks like..... Kim and Jacob ( my son ), have already kidded me on how long I'll have this one........ But, it will have to take a badass Charger R/T/500 WITH 4speed or Superbird project to get me away from this one... So far, it is so cool and it sounds awesome.... Love that trumpet exhaust. Reminds me of my former Lil' Red Express trucks I owned with the exhaust coming from right behind me........

Or the driver is telling the person sitting on the hood @ the hinge area that sitting on the hood won't take the hump out of it.   ;)

In turn the person taking the pic says he can see the future & once the new hood comes in we need to save this old one since people will pay premium dollar for an original one.  That's why he has the WTF look on his face.

Something like that....

Really enjoyed the car this weekend, as well as a lot of other people..... I participated in this year's World of Wheels Autorama in Houston. I was with my local Mopar club's display. The car did the club proud. May not be perfect ( well, it isn't ), but represented the club rather well. I was also approached by a professional photographer to have it in a paying gig for photoshoots for models ( pin-up genre )... So, that's cool. Also found a die-cast in the swap meet area....

PS: Yeap, still gotta get the "special instructions" air cleaner decal....

Well, the time has come and gone on my fleeting E-body ownership. New owner of my former '70 Challenger T/A has come and got the car. I will be using the money to buy something I've always wanted tomorrow. I'll update that on another thread.... The T/A is a VERY cool car nonetheless and the new owner will really enjoy it..

Cheers, it was a fun short ride...

1. Last day in the Mopar Nest with the Daytona and '71 R/T..
2. Waiting to load'er up.
3. Secure in the trailer...
4. Off to the Detroit area

Man you really don't keep cars long.  :popcrn:

Well, people here have only known me for a few years..

I had my 1st six pack Charger R/T for nearly 10 years, a survivor '71 R/T for 10+ years, a '68 Hemi Charger R/T for 10+ plus years, my current Daytona since 2008, my former '69 Charger 500 for nearly 10 years.... So, yeah, I do keep cars..... But, no one ever said you have to keep cars for a certain amount of time. Plus, the cars were a means to an end and that end is decided by me..  ;D.. The car I'm getting tomorrow is ever so close to the "end".
