A few years ago a friend of my fathers was chomped on by a shark. This guy was in his 80's and had been swimming across a channel behind his house nearly every day for 30 + years. The channel is shallow. Only about 10 foot deep in the center and only a little over 100 foot across. No one saw the shark, but when they got to him he had been chomped on pretty hard through his torso and one arm. So NO... I love to swim in salt water, but these days I keep to my salt water pool..

You guys should have picked goldfish instead of sharks.

I'm not afraid of sharks, but I wouldn't swim with them.  I figure that I don't eat sharks so they shouldn't eat me.  Same with snakes...I don't bite them, so they shouldn't bite me.
