Are you guys just using silicone or carrier gasket and silicone?
Also what limited slip additive do you use if any?

I've recently had mine out multiple times due to different issues and a gasket will work fine or just permatex will work fine as well.  As far as an additive I've heard many say use one but I never have just gear oil with limited slip added and was talking with a friend who has built many 8 3/4 and he said an extra additive is not needed.

I have also heard that modern gear oil has the limited slip stuff in it already. Probably does not hurt to add some more.

Gasket or silicone depends on whether or not you anticipate removal/installation in the future. If it's (you hope) a permanent installation, I'd go with silicone made for use with gear oil.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
