470" Stroker - carb suggestions?

I am looking for some guidance on selecting a carb.  The motor is a 470" stroked 400..  10.5:1 compression, Comp cams...545 lift with duration at I 241 and E 247, Edelbrock RPM heads and intake, tti 1 7/8 headers, 9 1/2 dynamic converter, and new FBO ignition.  Does anyone have any suggestion on carbs?  This is going in a 73 Charger - heavy with an automatic and 3.23's for now.  Time and money will get me the 3.91's and gear vendor.  Can I go with a Doulbe Pumper or need to stick with a vacuum secondary?  I've been told with this set up and the converter I should consider a double pumper.  I've been looking at 850's from Holley and Quick Fuel.  Any thoughts????

Thanks for the help,
Scott

having read the reviews on this, i am leaning to this for my 512, very simple jet & metering rod changes

Thanks for the feedback cdr.  I  hadn't thought about the Demon.  The guy that posted the last review on your link seems to like it and he's running a 440.   Maybe I should look at the Demon's as well.  I'm thinking a 750 will be too small with my set up.  I have 2 750's and 670 that I used when it was a mild 400.

Thanks,
Scott

if you are racing & want every little bit of hp, you will need more cfm, i have more cyl head & cam & cubes, i have a 3310 750 holley on mine right now & it runs really good, street car ? race car ? be careful the hp carbs & others cfm is rated at a different pressure  :Twocents:

Problem is, those 3.23s will like a vacuum secondary carb, but the 3.91s will respond well to the mechanicals. I say put the 750 you have on it for now and buy a new carb after you have finsihed upgrading. The difference in hp between the 750 and an 850 dp will be minimal and possibly not even felt.

BSB67

A small venture 950 HP type carb.

If you are on a budget, a used Holley 4781 will work well and won't give up much to the 950.

500" NA, Eddy head, pump gas, exhaust manifold with 2 1/2 exhaust with tailpipes
4150 lbs with driver, 3.23 gear, stock converter

That motor won't bat an eye at a DP carb.

i just saw you are running a dual plane intake, so yes you do need a real 850. like BSB67 suggested. i have the indy s/p max wedge port intake.

Thanks for the feedback...I'm still kicking it around.  I like the idea of putting the old 750 back on to save some money, but I also like the idea of getting the 850 now and finishing the set up with the gears, etc. later.

Thanks,
Scott
