Is there any history or information on this car? Thought it would make a nice driver, isn't to far from me to look at.

HEMI Daytona Convertible

Ghoste

It was entered into the 69 Registry about ten years ago with an e-bay ad as the source then as well.  The Daytona parts were on it at that time.

69_500

I looked the car over about 10 years ago. It was not terrible. Had a lot of little issues which could have been fixed in the last ten years. I would drive it.

I was just thinking of this very car the other day wondering if it was still around.....

Power locks?

power windows and power locks are in one check box on ebay when you list a car...you can't check only one

Still runs his Moparstyle website, don't know what else he has on the go but he kept a full plate so I doubt much has changed.

So what is a fair price for this car would you say

I'd have to disagree.  Actually, I think it's about average for what it is.

BigBlockSam

car needs a lot . i would bring it back to a 500 and build a daytona clone with the left over parts .  :Twocents:

looked at the car last night. the rear brackets that are in the trunk are not correct.Car could be made into a driver with some work, head light buckets are the only parts for the lights there Has had a lot of rust repaired before.Contact me if any one wants more on it.

BigBlockSam

if i got this car i would have to buy another 69 charger. you can use the fenders and hood to bring this car back and bolt  all the daytona front end and  stuff to the new  69. then keep the daytona clone or sell it .     :popcrn:

where would you put elephant  motor? The 500 has factory AC...you would need to find the 1 of 1 factory air cleaner base for the Hemi then

Bug shield C500

WOW... I looked at this car when it was in Oregon for sale 4 years ago. The Daytona parts are nice but the rest of the car..... :'(
at least the guys description is pretty close. That car has had lots of quarter panel patches done and lots of bondo. Left quarter it's spliced three quarters the way up all the way across. I could stick my fingers between the overlap gap on the inside. right quarter has several patches welded in around the wheel wheel. truck floor has several patches and main floor and trany tunnel has patches.
Seats are rock hard, felt like it had plywood under the covers. And those inserts didn't look right at all and I think were installed over the vinyl inserts. The interior  is driver quality at best. I walked away since really to restore that car your looking at both quarters, trunk, and main floor . A complete nose for C500 and then who know's what you find when the paint comes off.

I don't think selling the daytona parts at a premium will get enough to restore the car.  From what I remember it was advertised for $45k and it sold for $35k.

If someone buys it I would say replace the seats kits add new carpet and truck mat to hid the Frankenstein welding and enjoy the car as is. Good Luck. I love the color and options that car has. it would be really fun if they all worked.

:2thumbs: yeah I see see what your thinking  !!  :yesnod:      nooo Hemi  for the C500 , would restore it & do a OEM type rebuild on it !!

the elephant motor  would be for my yellow 69 -R/T SE  :yesnod:

although , my dream charger , apart from the one I have now , would be a C500 in Y2 with black interior & a hemi & a four speed  , cant see that happening , may be if I win the lottery & all the planets align  :P

shame it's going so high.  we couldn't swing it last time and could really use the parts...having a C500 with A/C would have rocked too.

wingcarenvy

I made a play for that car about 10 years ago at 40k out of Michigan. I was a little late and before i could hop on a plane to look at it a deposit was accepted sight unseen by someone else. I still like it and if I had the cash I would love to pick it up, fix some items and drive the wheels off it.
