Wheel color

Hi all,

Looking to clean up my wheels, they are the ones that are on the General (don't know what there called) anyway, I want to repaint the black part, but don't know the exact color. Is it flat/gloss black or a dark grey, Thanks

I'm thinking it's matte or satin black. The wheels are called Vectors by the way.....usually made by American Racing

I would think you would rough up the areas a bit, mask off whats not gonna be black and then use a quality product.

I used primer on mine, the paint needs something to adhere to. Make sure the surface is clean and degreased.
As for the color, any color you'd like... there is no right or wrong. The old original ones all came with a natural finish from the factory.
The new ones you can order with Gray or Black paint.

What about clearing the wheel? Would that help with preventing oxidation?

Yes, it would give a protective and shiny finish over the paint.

Wow you certainly found a old post... 2010..

I had mine powder coated at 60% gloss.
