You mean looks similar.  Wasn't it a 67 Bel Air in the flick?  (yeah, yeah splitting hairs but...)

FastbackJon

Yes, looks very similar. Movie car might have been a little darker blue though, but same year, make, model, engine, and body style (4 door hardtop).

Cop doesn't say '66 Chevy though, he says '67 or '68, the wrong year.

Hi I just joined this group after finding it while doing a search for my old 69 charger. I worked on film crews as a dolly grip and later had a recurring role on the streets of san francisco. While working on streets in 1975 I was able to purchase  the only surviving 69 charger from DMCL from the motor poole we used to share vehicles. I had body work done to make the car drivable but my soon to be ex wife totaled it. before she did this however, I got a location schedule for DMCL and cross refrenced it with the filming location permits and found ALL of the locations used in the movie. The locations talked about here are correct (great work ) The pool hall/gas station we went to  in the charger and parked in the rear just as they did in the movie. we sure did get some looks from the locals driving through town ( Linden, Calif.) we have just moved to our new home and during the move, I FOUND MY PICTURES OF MY 69 CHARGER can I post the pictures here from my computers picture folder  like I do in my other forums i belong to or, do they need to be hosted somewhere else ? I found  a thread here that was quoting me from the IMDB web site, so I joined here. on our trip to stockton, Linden etc., it was me, my soon to be EX wife, and my best friend. we also went to the drive in to see DMCL in the charger and you can imagine the double takes and looks we got.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

The car had Impala badges in the movie.  You can see them when they're repairing the car in the barn.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

I can't help you with posting of the pictures but I'm sure everyone want's to know what happened to the car after your ex-wife totalled it?  No need to explain WHY she's your ex. I would have divorced her too for doing that to my car. ;)
When I die I want to go like my Grandfather did, quietly in his sleep.  Not screaming like the passengers in his car.

Yes, I watched it again this weekend and it definitely says Impala and 327 on the fender in the barn.  It also looks to me like the drivers side exterior mirror changes too so I'm thinking there were at least two Chevys.

I went through with the divorce because she cheated BIG TIME and in the process, she stripped my bank account of everything but $10. turns out she wasn't paying the bills for a long while and threw the late letters in the dumpster. I let the wrecked car go for next to nothing because i was severly depressed i guess, I can just KICK myself for doing that with everything going on at the time I just didn't care, i bought a 72 ford pickup and have been driving trucks ever since, BUT I WANT ANOTHER 69 SO BAD I can't stand it. I was sitting in one ( yellow with black top/ R/T tail stripe 440 6 Pac with factory tri-power $50,000.00 which I don't have, but it is in an enclosed showroom and i go to visit it often. back in 1977 these cars were a dime a dozen, then the DUKES destroyed too many. back then $850.00 could buy you a GREAT Charger everyday. So you guys that have them are VERY lucky and I envy you !!!!

Cool, they found the location for the drawbridge scene.

Drawbridge is referenced (found) on this thread on page 2... the pictures from that webshots album appeared after this thread had located the scenes, so I don't doubt he's either a member or he found the thread.
