Got a note from Bill Hoehn with the F6 Daytona asking how many other original Daytona owners like him are still out there.   Bill says he is 84 and still showing the car.

Off the top of my head, I could think of Elmer's Limelight Daytona,  Carl Swanson's Goldie and Bob K's blue car from Colorado.   How many others are out there?

I know of Zero. We were parked right next to Elmer at the National Meet in 78.
I still can't get over the plastic he had over the seats. It was a mindblower even
back then. I took this shot when I was a kid.

C5X DAYTONA

Jim Gehrky has his.
If Vernon Judy would go get his back.    That would be another.
Wilbert passed a few months back.      His family still has it
There is a V2 Daytona parked in Richfield Utah.   Original owner.  But car was for sale on my last visit.

Elmer drove his Daytona forward to that parking spot from the trailer..  Then backed it up all the way to the trailer..     Knott's Berry Farm

What about the Tiffany car Doug? Still same family, not sure how it is titled.

Ron Kornet still has his B5 car as well, never been titled.

Bronze Daytona in Detroit still owned by original owner as well.

I was getting ready to drop a small rant about people who don't drive these awesome machines, but reading that article almost brings tears to my eyes.  The owner of that Daytona didn't just DRIVE the car he LIVED his life with it.  I dare say he had more guts back then than I do now...

Thanks guys. Trying times for sure, but the good book assures us it is nothing we cannot bear. Don't let this news derail a cool thread.

Mom's name is still on the title too. She wheeled it as a daily driver about as often as Dad. My sister was born 08/20/68, to perhaps guesstimate this photo being taken late in 1970.

I'm very sorry to hear of your family's trial - but genuine faith is a great way to not only endure, but grow stronger in spite of what's happening.

Ernie, sorry to hear about your dad.

Larry, that red on red Daytona close to you used to be in our family. I would like to buy it back but I doubt they will ever sell the car.

Mopar John

Ernie,
I am also saddened to hear about your dad.
That Daytona may not be on the road but at the least it's still with the family.

Ernie, I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. I'm in your club, I never got the car back on the
road when my Dad was still alive. Two thumbs up from a young Daytona Enthusiast
