440 oil pressure sender port, pressure switch

   The pressure sender is obviously on the left side of the back of the block beside the  ridge.  What is the threaded plug on the right side of the ridge for ?  I understand that an electric fuel pump has a switch that shuts it off if the engine looses oil pressure. If this is true can an adapter be  threaded into the port on the right  or does it have to go under the oil pressure sender ?? Thanks.

I used the other port for an aftermarket oil psi gauge....

Both ports are the same.

You can fit a later "idiot light" switch with incorporated switch. These were used to cut the power to the choke control if engine wasn't running on later Mopars

The two ports are the result of cross-drilling to connect the LH and RH lifter oil galleries. After drilling, the holes were tapped and one got a plug while the other was used for the OP sender.
