After 3 years, getting ready to finally paint my 73 and I need to remove the chrome from around the drip rails and I know there has to be a way, but I do not see it.

That is the very same tool I used to take the chrome off my 69 Charger

The round end with the round hole I just took some masking tape and wrapped around two or three times so it has some padding

Then just use it like a bottle opener
Put the side with the tape on top of the chrome and use the tap that is hanging down to hook on the chrome lip on the bottom side and lift it up to pop off
Just do a little at a time and work your way along so you do not make marks or stretch the chrome

I used a paint stir stick and lightly tapped on the inside edge.

I just used my fingers to roll it off less chance of damage
