Ok I was wondering what is normal as far as the date on a carb for it to be considered correct for a #'s matching car?

I have a 69 that was scheduled  to be built in 4/8/69.
And I know it was sold new on 7/3/69.
The carb that came on the car is the correct Holley 4 Bbl(for my 69 "H" code 383) it has list 4440 .
but the build date on the carb is 2328 I think that is Aug 19 1968.
Most other parts, are from within 35 days of 4/69, are carb dates that far off?
Or is my 2328 date not Aug 19 1968?
Thanks.

I believe the Holley date code is the day (232nd day) followed by the year (eight) so you're close.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks John, so If I have the date correct, carb built 8/19/68 isn't that a touch old for a 4/8/69 car?

My T/A (built April 1970) had three pieces of glass from June 1969.

The 1978 Super Coupe I just bought for parts had a June 22 final assembly day. Two wheels dated Jan 1978, one Nov. 1977 & one June 1978.
