Hi, so yesterday when i went to do a little burnout, my throttle cable snapped the little piece ("ear", highlighted in red). that it hooks up to by the carb. Im trying to find the proper piece and so far no luck. There is a little ball on the throttle cable, so... any help..?

You need a new throttle cable. Also you need the Holley throttle lever adaptor so you can hook up your transmission throttle pressure linkage and your new accelerator cable correctly.

thanks for reply.

I already have the bracket you linked (was waiting to use it during kickdown cable install).

I believe the throttle cable itself is intact, just the little bracket broke. Or do you mean I need it to make it work with the kickdown cable?

I don't know if they make a fix for the broken cable end? I would go with a new cable, install the bracket and hook everything up. Adjust the transmission pressure linkage per the FSM and be done with it. I've heard mixed reviews on the Lokar stuff.

Ok, my throttle cable isnt broken, its the little ear piece thats broken. So looking at that mancini racing cable, i would still need to attach it to something to pull the lever.

The little ball broke off and the u shape piece with the screw through it came off the cable correct?

euroZ06

The little ball is intact. The throttle cable is intact. The piece that the throttle cable connects to (the little bent washer) is what broke. The one that throttle cable connects to, as per picture.

Only you see the first picture in your original post... none of us pay to use photobucket.

You could get the TIG out and weld the end back together. You could make a new end, grind the ball off the cable to install it and reswage a new end onto the cable to retain it (if you have the required tool) or as other have suggested, you could buy a complete new cable assembly.

Im sorry :( when i try to upload via this site it says file too big and i dont know how to make it smaller via iphone. So i figured the only way to share was photobucket and i didnt know it wasnt free... i looked in my settings and i think my pics are open to all...

I have lokar kickdown cable kit, i have lokar throttle kit (srk-400) and i have holley throttle lever...

The piece that broke is a little ear that connects the throttle cable to the throttle arm (its like a little metal piece that gets the ball end of throttle cable connected to the throttle arm).

Perhaps ur right, maybe getting a new lokar throttle cable would make everything work well together without any custom fabricating... i dont have the tools to custom fab.
