can someone tell me what mopar performance part number i need for timing chain for this engine
there are 2  a 3bolt and a single bolt

justcruisin

Probably came with a single bolt from the factory, but that was over 40 years ago. Either or could be in there now, pull the cover and have a peek.

roger01

Yup that's what I'm gonna do just wanted to get the thing ordered out
So is the 3rd bolt mount an aftermarket thing ?
If it is then mine is definitely the single

justcruisin

No, the 3 bolt cam was factory fitted from 1970 in the 6 pack engine. But the aftermarket has made the 3 bolt cam available for a lot of grinds. Yours could have been changed as both will fit with the matching timing set. Pay to look before you order.

I would order a cloyes over a mp part.  :Twocents:

roger01

Cloyes ...huh...but does it really matter to me ,I'm just gonna be cruising around .?

justcruisin

If it's a stock engine, stock pump,, stock valve springs etc you will probably be fine, personally I agree with Joe. A billet set is the way to go, especially on a single bolt cam.

Cloyes makes stock replacement parts. Worth an extra 2 dollars.

roger01

Wow really they are that much better Coy's it is

On a 40+ year old motor you can't be sure.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
