I have a built 741 case, but it has the small pinion yoke. I have a larger yoke...can I just swap the yoke and be done with it? There are spacers, not a crush sleeve in the carrier.

I've had two diff builders tell me opposite things. Anyone have any experience at this?

Cheers,

The 741 doesn't have a crush sleeve so you can swap yokes at your leisure; only problem you might encounter is the spline count, the 741 uses both 10-spline and 29-spline pinions but mostly 10-spline. Check the hex size of the pinion nut, if it's 1 1/8" it's 10-spline, if 1 1/4" its 29-spline.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
