if you built the car for yourself = sounds like a winner

if you built the car to please some random stranger - then, YES, you wasted your time & money  :brickwall:  & maybe this hobby isn't for you  :shruggy:

Well said!

Nacho, thanks man. For all the help also. At the end of the day I suppose it really does not matter what the value is.As long as it makes you happy.

On a side note, you are still cooler than that Chevy guy whichever car he drives LOL. If he didn't care, why he would float on any kind of subject to bother you? LOL

Na, I am disgusted. I am  ignorant for all the time wasted on this thing. Time to move on and sell this thing and maybe have something to be proud of. A 400 Rallye Charger is pretty much low on the list and I wasted time & $.  Truth hurts and I am the dumb ass.

Chevy guy was right. My Charger  is undesirable and sucks pretty much. :'( :'(

As an outsider, looking in:
I think the word "UNDESIRABLE" is polluting your thoughts.
Sure your car may be LESS DESIREABLE then a 68 HEMI CHARGER, but is your Charger less desirable then NO CHARGER???
(I don't think so)
I can relate, I can FEEL your pain, as I have a 1969 Charger that is triple Green.
TRIPPLE GREEN  is most likely, the LEAST desirable  color combo of them all.
But you know what it's mine!!!!

In my opinion, so what about your Charger having a 400?, unless you are super CONCERNED about owning a car that other people like or with having an all original #'s matching car?
Even if you want a #'s or original looking car, you can pull out the #'s 400, place it away safe, and drop in a 400 block stroked to 493/512 and eat most anything that dare line up next to you!!!!
You already have a big block car, so torsion bars, and K-frame, and transmission are all big block.

Don't let anyone $h!T on your car, cause at end of the day you are driving a big block Charger, and one of the LAST big block Chargers, as 74 is the last of the muscle car Chargers.

Just my thoughts, its your ride and you are  the one who needs to be happy with it.
Do I wish my 1969 Charger was a 4 speed Hemi R/T, hell yes, but so what, I am still rocking a Charger.

I hope this lifted your spirts some.
Because you do have a cool car.

Yes & no. I have put so much time into this Charger that sometimes it drives me crazy ! Trying to reason with myself on and knowing it is a Rallye which I love that and coming to terms that it is not the most desirable 73' Rallye. Makes it easier to even consider selling.

If I did I would have to have a 71' or 72' Charger SE lined up, even a SB . I have really loved those years also.

I don't think would sell my 74 with 400 auto to get a 71 R/T. I like way too much 73/74 lines more than 71/72 no matter the final price of the R/T
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

So, I am having a debate with a Chevy guy.

He says a 73' Rallye Charger 340 Pistol Grip Charger is more rare and desirable than a 73' Rallye 400 highly optioned Charger, mine !

I want  :slap: him..yet I have to somewhat make my point. I would rather have a  BB Rallye with console and highly optioned A/C car than a 340 Pistol Grip Charger IMO.

If my Charger sucks that bad then F my life...I should just sell it and be on the quest for a 340 73' Rallye and mine is basically shit and I hate people.

Your friend is not comparing apples to apples.  An auto to 4spd, that's a personal preference.  I have owned late 340 and 400 4spd cars, the rear tires lasted a lot longer on the 340 car. You could argue with your friend that your 400 is one of the better 400's and the '73 cast crank 340 is the least desirable of all the 340's there not even close to the early 340's.  Any way you look at it your car will turn more heads than most chevys will.
My first Charger was a Stock Car.

If you've had your Charger for 16 years you obviously like it and you're probably ahead of the game financially as Charger prices have risen a lot in 16 years. As for 4 speed versus auto there are few muscle cars that were predominately 4 speeds therefore a 4 speed car is rarer but no more desireable to a dedicated auto box driver. I have had quite a few Mopars  the majority being big blocks and four speeds. My current car is a 73 340 4 speed Rallye but in terms of my personal favourite of all the Mopars I have owned the 73 isn't the favourite  but I have loved them all. Who can pick my favourite out of these; 68 383 4speed Charger, 69 1/2 six pack 440 auto Superbee, 70 383 auto Charger 500, 72 440 4 speed GTX, 70 383 4 speed 'cuda, 69 440 4 speed Charger R/T and the 73 340 4 speed Rallye.

Chargerguy74

Challenge accepted. The 72 GTX. Maybe the A12.

I missed out the 71 318 auto Charger SE, but yes the 72 GTX was my favourite best handling Mopar. Would expect a 72 440 4 speed Charger to be equally as good in the handling department. Have to say the  68 Charger was the best looking.
