Awesome.

CB, you ever consider building one with long travel suspension? Something better suited to the off road thing? Maybe mimic something modern wrc cars are doing now suspension wise? While keeping the body stock.

After, I welded the converter to the flex plate in Kansas, I'm in vegas now. Just leaving it until the need ever comes up to take it apart

Reminds me of the way I use to drive my Bee in '79, 80, 81 and usually on the gravel road there was flashing red and blue lights in the background!

::) I think the dashboard in the one on the right is too small.
Is that a Furd cop car conversion?

miamivice

LOL yea, its the car that was built for the Cooter's last stand jump last year in Virginia.   Its an interesting conversation piece to have... there is a thread or two on here about the car somewhere.

How much paint did you lose filming that!!?
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you !!

cbrestorations

None I think...I keep it dirty, the general looks cooler dirty. Lost more paint sliding across the hood and jumping in the windows than I did off-roading. I've beat that car from North Dakota in the snow to the desert. Looks the same still.  That's the whole reason I bought this car and got it a driver is to drive it hard.

Homerr

I'm confused.

A General Lee on an unpaved road is supposed to squeal the tires when breaking traction.

Kern Dog

Tires CAN squeak on dirt. The dirt needs to be very solid and with almost no loose rocks or dust on it though.

not cool why ruin a classic like this they are super rare and you just ruining them makes it worse I would never put any of these classic cars thru that abuse or modify them in anyway.  ::)

Oh yeah...Marysville CA.
I've also dirt tracked a bit for fun in a few cars the way you did but my cars never looked as cool.
Nice work. The engine sounds great under power too.   :2thumbs:

Ruin??? How am I ruining a classic? I can get in it right now and drive it cross country again like I did last week. It's my car and even if I wrap that sucker around a pole, guess what...I rebuild dead chargers for a living so I would just fix it  better than it was. You only live once...you wanna spend it driving miss daisy to a car show and sitting in a lawn chair or roll into that show with rubber hanging off the quarters, smoke still lingering in the air behind it, mud still hanging from the mirrors, gut hurting and eyes still watering from laughing ur fucking ass off while having a great time....

You can have the damn lawn chair cuz I'm having a mother f*#$&@g good time with my cars

Absolutely, I've had it happen when braking hard in an 85 dodge Lancer.  It was surprising to say the least.
