I will overhaul your transmission for $375.00 plus shipping. I will ship to your location via carrier of your choice. I will guarantee my work for 6 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. A transmission core is required, but I do not charge a price for the core. You will just have to send the core to me on your dime. *Shipping via UPS ground is the cheapest for a 727 or 904.... A500/518 or 46RH/RE 44RH/RE weigh more and cannot be shipped via UPS ground, a freight company will need to be utilized; check with your local freight companies for pricing as it varies state to state*If you desire a STOCK rebuild, then I do not believe you can get it any cheaper than this, anywhere. Copes Racing Transmissions sells his Stock Transmissions for $595.00 (w/bead blasting add $100.00) (I DO BEAD BLASTING TOO, $50 EXTRA)If your transmission has parts that are no longer serviceable, you will be charged for the replacement of that part. Most of the parts for the 727's I have extra's for, so the cost will be kept fair and reasonable. I will paint or leave the transmission case its natural tone dependent on what you desire. If you would like to have a shift kit installed, it will be $35.00 extra. If you would like to upgrade to a 4 gear planetary setup (front and rear), it will cost $175.00 extra. If you would like to upgrade to a 5 gear planetary front and 6 gear planetary rear it will be $250.00 extra. If you would like to have performance options put into your 727, please tell me and we can develop a price that is suitable based upon what you desire. The amount of items to increase performance are too numerous to list. I will overhaul 904's too. But only as stock overhauls (but will put in a shift kit, low gear set if buyer desires; again that will cost more).I OVERHAUL OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSIONS, PRICE FOR A A500/518 44RH 46RH IS $475.00 (KITS ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN A 727 OR 904 KIT) I WILL TAKE MONTHLY PAYMENTS W/O INTEREST. ONCE PAYMENT IS RECEIVED IN FULL, YOUR TRANSMISSION WILL BE SHIPPED.
PAYMENTS ARE UP TO 6 MONTHS BASED UPON WHAT YOU WANT.
A PAYMENT IS BASED UPON THE TOTAL PRICE OF THE AGREED TRANSMISSION BUILD DIVIDED BY THE MONTHS OF PAYMENT.
E.G. $325 / 6 MOS = $54.17 PER MONTH (WITHOUT SHIPPING ADDED). A contract will be sent to you and will need to be signed prior to any exchange of money or services.Contact information: Jamey @ racedodge@hotmail.comor 620-757-1284 I am in Emporia, Kansas.

I overhaul and sell small block 727 (cores for SB's are $100) Many have asked about the shipping element. Greyhound will ship the transmissions. Shipping quote from Emporia, KS to St. Louis, MO: $67.10 for a 100 pound transmission.

$80 from laredo to here one way. Shit that's not too bad. I figured it would be more. I'll do some looking around town and see what kind of prices there are around here. I'll have to ask around and see if anyone knows someone that does good transmission work. I'm not even able to pull the engine from my charger yet but when I do you'll probably get PM from me. Hell, sending it to you would save me some room around here anyway.

Sounds like a good price. Is this a master kit or just fix what is bad?

this overhaul will replace all seals, rings, clutches, bands, thrust washers, spring and roller kit for sprag, AND front and rear bushings and sunshell bushing if needed. Any areas (i.e. hard parts) that are defective will be replaced but the price will increase based on the hard part that is inoperable or damaged. If you want anything else done to your transmission, for instance: shift kit, rollerized rear drum, different ratio front band lever, vent relocation, etc... it will cost more. Dependent on what you want done will determine on how much you pay.

You're hired.
Hopefully when you open up that 71 model 727 that's been setting for 20+ years things won't look to bad.
Let me know if you need any parts, etc.

RD You still doing this? It looks like you've lowered the price to $285. I'm not going to pull my tranny cause it's the original and has been rebuilt, but if I find another BB 727 for cheap, I might send it to you. I want a transmission that shifts hard and will chirp second. I don't know much about tranny's except to remove and reinstall, but I want a mean one. Free bump for you in the meantime. v/r Mike

What else is there that can make it even harder?? Now you got me lookin and thinking tranny's.... great! I have a 383 mild rebuild with 3.23 SG rear if any of that makes a difference. I'm aware a shift kit can do some things but give me some more to ponder. I have a 2500 stall in it right now too and I really don't even know what that does for me??? v/r Mike

Ok is it $325, $300, or $285. Subject lines differ throughout the posts. Not that it matters too much but it can be confusing and just want to know where i'm starting at? thanks v/r Mike

I have a 2500 stall in it right now too and I really don't even know what that does for me??? v/r Mike mike, a higher ratio lever, more springs in the drum, higher line pressure can all make the 1-2 shift firmer. The 2500 stall allows your engine to spin up to 2500 rpm (roughly, dependent on engines actual torque production) without 100% engagement, and then at 2500 rpm the torque converter transfers the full amount of power/torque being produced from the engine through the driveline. It more or less allows you to find a range of rpm where your engine produces more hp/torque and release that power to the wheels while standing still, instead of actually moving. i am sure i am not explaining this right, right now because i just got off work and I am hungry as hell, but if you do a search here on this site, you will find a really good technical explanation of a stall converter.
