heater water valve

Hello guys just wondering how tight the firewall heater valve needs to be ? it seems tight but the plate isn't  sitting against the fire wall what's your thoughts thanks picture not my car just for reference

providing you have all the correct hardware , new bushings , gasket ,   once installed , you could / can minutly rock the water valve with a bit of force  if you really wanted to a couple of thou side to side, not so you can see it but feel it type thing , because the water valve  screws are insulated in the rubber bushing ,  thats asuming you have the correct mounting screws & stuff ,  but should not feel loose  as in easy to wiggle,  unless your really  trying as mentioned above  hope this makes sence .

have a look at the pictures below for  correct screws  , & rubber insulating bushings etc

Yes have all the correct hardware like i said i didn't want to over do it thanks for your reply Tan Top much appreciated ps why i have your attention i replaced all the inner rubbers when you turn the tap off does your full block any air getting through?

if you have the correct screws.
You cant over tighten it without stripping out the holes in the firewall

There purpose is to get the valve tight,,,yet flat and no twist in the valve

That's what i was worried about stripping the fire wall holes.So short answer is you can't damage the valve but you can strip out the holes ?

469 runner

Those screws are designed so they cannot be overtightened.  Once tightened beyond the sheet metal threads into the spiral portion it won't tighten any more.

 i cant remember how & what does what  ,  all the ac stuff was missing under the hood when i got mine & only the water valve & & A/C heaterbox was left , went throught it seeing what was what i could make work  for heat etc ,  ive since swapped everything to the standard non ac heaterbox . & long since gave away the remains of the AC stuff , so sorry i cant be of much help  on this .
