Awesome car, but I've never seen the "Giraffe setting" on the headrests before!

You can almost change the oil without a jack!
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Car is a nice one for sure. It is the lowest known mileage Hemi 500. Also the highest known VIN for a HEMI 500. without shipment list no way to say which one is last or not, as there are a few others right around it for VIN.

Its a beautiful color combo. My dad wasn't a fan of the auto on the column and Buddy seat, which is why he passed on it in 1979 (the old pics above are his that he took that day). Shortly there after he bought the R4 4 speed Hemi.

Hi 69_500,              29 April 2022

No question, it is a beauty.

We're going to assume you have your Father's Hemi 500 4-spd.

Made me laugh!   I am 6'5" with long arms.   You are right the cars have a lot of ground clearance.  I already change my Charger's oil without a jack!  I just reach for the drain plug!

I wish I had the Hemi 4 speed 500 that my dad used to own. However I have a T5 Hemi auto 500 that I am the lucky care taker of after getting it from Jerry and Ann Nerramore. Jerry had always said he would own the car his entire life, and Ann thought I would be a good one to take care of it now. Very blessed.

I wish I had any of the 5 Daytona's that my dad had as well, but so far I am wingless.

Hi 69_500,             03 May 2022

Thanks for the response.

If I were a lot younger (82 in 3 mo) we wouldn't have sold ours. No one is guaranteed tomorrow. It has a great new parent and home.

Take Care.

Hi Folks,               08 May 2022

Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms out there !!!

Haven't read anything that says this is a matching Numbers Hemi 500.

Our guess is, since it was raced, it has a replacement Hemi and/or Transmission. If this is the case, it's a shame, because it is a beautiful car.

Steve Fox has had this car twice, and Denny Guest also owned it, and it was at Earl G house as well. Steve sold the car shortly after I went down to his place to look it over. I guess he didn't like my assessment, or pics of the car.

Actually he sold it to buy the 99 99 Hemi 4 speed car, then sold that to buy the X9 Hemi 4 speed 500.

Hi Folks,               12 May 22

If you are lucky enough to own one of these cars, be thankful. They are rare and having one is a privilege and honor. Take care of it and when you decide to sell it, try to find a buyer that will take care of it and not use it as a money tool. Yes you should get a reasonable return but also make sure it's not going to a flipper.

Good luck in your pursuit of the automotive Holy Grail.

Hi Folks,               14 May 2022

If we didn't already have a stable full of cars I think we'd try to buy this car. We still think the Dodge Chargers of this era are the most beautiful cars to have ever graced the world's highways . . . . bar none !!!

We hope whomever buys her will appreciate her and give her a great home; hey Bob, hint, hint !!!

Car was in Tulsa in around 2002 when I looked at it. Pretty sure it is the same car I saw.  It was a rolling painted completely apart shell asking an insane at the time price.  I do not recall it having the original fender tag or the original build sheet or original motor as I recall were all gone.  I do not recall any mention of red stripe either at that time so most X9 really were white stripe if you ran percentages.  Seems interesting arguably might be one of the very best combos has a mere 24 comments after it surfaces again, yet again the 500 crowd remains still a small group compared the late year car with the wing...  I like them both, but personally prefer 500s.  Neat car and looks nice.

So why hasn't this car had more comments and is there real issues with it.  I was a little  surprised on its selling price being the market seems so crazy these days??

69_500

You nailed it already. in my opinion this car is not numbers matching. I have known of this car for pretty much my entire life. It is a legit low mile car. Was drag raced early on.

As far as the red stripe goes, I am confident the car had a white stripe on it from Creative. Red stripe was added early in the 2000's. As well as the rocker moldings.

Hi Folks,             10 June 2022

Has this car crossed the block? If so what did it go for?

Thanks in advance
