I guess too many variables to get a definitive answer.  Here's my attempt.  I put a bigger and bigger wad of tape on the stock intake 440 with unsilenced air cleaner, and closed the hood until it just touched the tape.  That was at 2".  The front of the air cleaner was 9" above the front valley pan rail.  The motor I'm putting in the other '69 Charger is a 383.  Don't know the height difference.  With a Performer RPM, Holley Sniper EFI, 1" drop base, 2-3/4" filter element and unsilenced air cleaner, I get 10-1/4" from front valley pan rail to top of air cleaner, leaving 3/4" clearance, plus the height difference between the 383 and 440.  What have been your guy's results?
