Are rear disc brakes worth the time and effort?

I'm not saying you NEED hydroboost.  The dual-diaphragm boosters are pretty powerful.  But lots of factory power-brake cars never had a dual diaphragm booster.  And it's popular to run hot-rod motors that don't really make enough vacuum.

We are also up-sizing the brake equipment on average too.  The factory discs on a 2nd-gen Charger would fit under 14" wheels.  Today there are some guys running 14" rotors on classic cars.

And then there is engine bay clearance for big power boosters.  Some of the 70s/80s GM boosters worked hard but they were pretty huge.  More factors to consider.

I tried hydroboost and was actually anxious to make it work. The unit I got was defective. It wouldn't bleed out right and it burned up 3 power steering pumps in the process.
I've read mixed reviews on HB though. Many claim it isn't linear and that it is too touchy. Some say it doesn't have the right kind of "feel" for them.
I was amazed at the stark difference between the A and B body boosters. I didn't know until a couple of years ago that the B unit was a dual diaphragm.
