Whats the best way to refurbish/clean seat belts?  I have all my original belts they are just 50 year filthy.  I looked at re-webbing services but it seems kind of pricey.  I can wash them but I don't want the fabric to turn dark purple.  Id like it to stay black.  Any ideas or shared stories.   Thanks

I used RIT dye on mine to freshen them up, taped off the buckles and painted them with SEM trim black.  Pics below in my resto thread on page 13 about half way down.  :Twocents:

Used a spray can of upholstery cleaner on mine, worked just fine..
