Getting ready to paint the trunk of the '73...

Question about what is factory correct:

Should the body plugs in the trunk be painted body color or left black?

Thanks for the help!

When the cars were built, the body plugs were put in after paint.
The purpose for those holes was drainage. As the cars passed through the large tanks of anti-corrosion dip and primer, the excess flowed out through the holes. The body was painted and the plugs went in a bit later.
NO paint on the plugs.
