Started looking for a gas smell,  found the rubber hose between the tank and the fuel line not leaking but wet.   But found the 742 rear end seal badly leaking throwing gear oil on the under body and both mufflers.  That ends my knowledge....  The seal between the u-bolts and the rear end  must be bad.  Its stamped *****742 .  I guessing the shop will need a rebuild kit.  Spicer has at least 5,  I think it might be 14537-02720548.   Help,  And Thanks

The front pinion seal?

If so, no need for a shop with a 741 or 742 case. You can replace it yourself by removing the u-joint yoke and old seal.

well this is good news..  I can barely craw under the car too old and not the best of health. I'll have to check into the front pinion seal.  I'll see what I can get done.  Thank for the great news.
