Has anyone used this AC condenser from year one? I need a factory replacement.

Also, I need to rebuild my RV2 compressor. Any tips or tricks to do that myself? Any recommendations on gasket kits for it?

I've procrastinated the AC components long enough... I've got to get this stuff done.

1969 Charger R/T 440/auto (waiting to be restored)
1972 Chevelle SS clone 383 sbc
1959 Chevy Apache short bed stepside
1968 Charger (glorified parts car)
Yes, I know I have too many cars. My wife reminds me daily.

Gasket kits are available on e-bay.

To properly "rebuild" a compressor you'd need lots of expensive parts, cheaper to buy a rebuilt unit. All you probably need is a front seal.

I'm sure somebody will recommend replacing the RV-2 with a more modern unit but it isn't as as it sounds...besides the compressor, brackets, etc. you need to add a clutch-cycling switch to the system.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I want to keep the AC original so I need to use what I already have. I thought about upgrading everything firewall forward but classic auto air (old air products) are out of stock on their firewall forward kits. I've called multiple times and they have no projected restock date.

Do you recommend anyone/anyplace to get a rebuilt unit from?

Why do you think you need a rebuilt? As I stated, a seal change is probably all you need.

I bought this car in boxes. It hasn't been on the road since 1995. I've completely went through every system. Only thing I haven't done is the AC. I have absolutely no idea what the compressor needs. It may not need anything, or it may be junk. Visually looking at it I see nothing wrong. It could use a little freshing up cosmetically but no idea what the internals look like.

Just about everything you'd need is here:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=mopar+rv-2+compressor&_sacat=6000&_from=R40&_trksid=p4432023.m570.l1313

If the compressor was stored with the ports uncapped, a cursory disassembly and look/see might be wise.
