Tanks Inc. leaks

I have a leak coming from either the universal sender, or the pump. It's pretty significant. I think it may be one of the bolts. I'm going to drop this tank only once, because it's a pain in the butt. I will install a small door in the trunk floor for easy access in the future. I used Permatex fuel resistant gasket dressing and cork gaskets on the fuel senser and pump per their recommendation. I forget what I used on the bolts. What should I use for those?

I have done 3 tanks and everything was installed dry. No leaks from any of the tanks.

I'd call Tanks Inc. to see what they use.  :scratchchin:

If it comes with the O-ring bolts to mount the float/pump those can be troublesome. You can overtighten them, squishing the O-ring out of alignment.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I found the culprit. Right at the base of the fuel output. See arrow  :icon_smile_big:
To can see fuel being forced out when it's priming.

The gasket and rubber washers seemed fine, but I'll get new gaskets and the washers you posted John, thanks.  :2thumbs:

The pump is a GLA-4. Besides being a bit loud when priming, and the leak, is seems to work fine. Is there a better one though? Grossly stock 440. If bot then I'll just order the top part and reuse the pump.

I want to get another sending unit as well. I have the universal floatless unit and it sucks. My fuel gauge is all over the place when taking turns, accelerating, or braking. The needle goes back to the correct level once you're cruising for a minute, but I'm tired of it bouncing around. The stock unit was way more stable. What are you guys running?

Some tanks use foam inside to dampen slosh.

Are you running stock Gauges?

Yes I am. I never had this with the stock unit but I'm not going to change it out. These floatless units are getting good reviews and it does read spot on when I'm just cruising. Maybe I can add something that delays the signal to the gauge?

The tank has a baffle but I think that's around the pump only. I'll have to check.
