Such a pussy...

I can't believe that I wimped-out so badly this AM.

Had to drive down to C. Springs to meet an old buddy for an early lunch (haven't seen him for something like 25-years) and I didn't take my car (which I absolutely knew he would have liked). It was under its cover and my wife's car was parked behind it. There was also a pile of crap under and behind it (wading boots, freezer bags, lawnmower gas can, etc.) and I was running a little late to actually get there in time (& it takes a few minutes to go through the un-cover, store cover, back out, prime carb, start and warm-up cycle) so I opted out and drove the more-modern and fuel-efficient Mazda unit.

You get seduced by the easier, safer (and more comfortable) path as you roll into your 60s (I fear), and when I got there he was clearly disappointed that I didn't bring it, darn it. It is an easy drive the back-way down there (down Highway 83) and while the traffic is a chore when you're almost there, it would have been well worth it.

I'm leaving town for a funeral back East (on Monday) and I'm still packing and trying to schedule a few things there so I'm focused on all that silly stuff and missed this opportunity for a much-more fun visit. After dinner here (and a few drinks if I'm being honest) I finally did pull the cover off and used it to go get some lawnmower gas, and of-course it started and ran perfectly (which made me feel even more like spineless puss, dammit).

Don't call yourself such things...leave that to others.  :smilielol:

It is tempting to choose what is more convenient and comfortable. I just got back from 5 days away in this car:

It runs fine and is reliable and fast but it is not as easy to drive as the late model stuff.
I get it.
