Hi all just double checking the vin rivets look ok on this 68 I went to see ?

No reason to doubt it but just checking as a couple of different Mopars I've viewed in the past a few of you guys said the rivets are not factory

So just double checking the below rivets look factory ? They look the correct rosette style to me but I'm no expert

I've blacked out the sequential number out of respect to the owner as I obviously haven't bought it yet

Many thanks

I Posted on another Mopar forum also and a couple of guys said the first 4 digits (XP29) look slightly different than the rest? Eg different font and slightly higher ?

Here's the full vin below

Any more opinions on this ?

What reason would this be ?

Please could anyone look at their vins to see if any are similar ?

Would you avoid buying the car because of this or ok you think ? To be honest I'm not really seeing what they're on about

Many thanks

I think it looks right  Might just be the curve of the glass makes it look a little different

This is one of the replies I got on another site

I don't really understand what's he's getting regarding raised bits etc

The "2 tags" he's referring to is just because I posted 2 separate pics of the same tag , my fault for confusing things

Here's he's post....

"""can we get a better pic of this tag? i can only see 1 number the rest you have scribbled out.
to me the first pic the numbers stamped were done with a regular stamp and the indented metal from the stamp go towards the inside of the tag. the second pic is a proper stamp with a inverted stamp. the metal from the stamp goes towards the part that you see.
in other words the first tag is exactly the oppisite of the second tag. IMOP the first tag wasn't done by chrysler.

you can easily see the first stamps have raised, go upwards from the tag. the last stamps are recessed, stamps go into the metal.
i am not familiar with earlier B body cars, i worked on E bodies and 71 and up B body cars.
i don't ever remember seeing vin tag stamps like that.""
