I am in the middle of my 505 stroker build and starting to plan for the transmission. I have the hemi 18 spline transmission and just removed a Lakewood blow proof bell made for a 143 tooth flywheel.

Brewers has brand new aluminum 10.5 Big block bell housings with inspection cover which is very tempting since its lighter, and brand new, and will allow me to use a 130 tooth flywheel and smaller clutch/plate which will give me some more room under there with my 2 inch headers that I am likely going to re use.

The car may see the track once and a while and likely will never have slicks. Am I looking for trouble with the smaller, aluminum bell or should I be looking for an old iron one made for the 143tooth flywheel? I get its still cast iron but its likely stronger than aluminum and the larger clutch may handle the increased torque?
