Why do these drive the way they do?

Figured this might be a fun topic to speculate on and discuss.  :popcrn: I've noticed theres something unique about the way Chargers drive. To me, it feels more stable the faster you're going. At first I just figured that was a quirk of my worn out, mostly original suspension, but one time at a gas stop, a former Charger came up to chat with me and he said the same thing about the one he used to own. Now I'm wondering if this is just a fundamental aspect of the chassis design...

I'm curious if anyone else feels this too? My main point of reference is my '64 Cadillac as it's the only other older car I've driven a lot. To me the Cadillac is very linear, it feels very competent at all speeds but it isn't begging you to break the speed limit on the interstate. For the Charger, lower speeds require more active steering input but once you get on the interstate it practically drives itself.

If you've noticed this too, any guesses as to why?  :shruggy:

Does your car have power steering?

Many people who drive other brands feel the opposite, that Mopar's power steering assist is too much, it makes you feel totally disconnected from the road, no wheel feedback or resistance...even a little scary.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I noticed that on the freeway and some winding backroads my Charger steers beautifully and you really feel at one with the car, and that's with power steering too.
Even my old 69 was the same, but I drove a couple of my mate's cars, one a 79 CM 318 Chrysler Regal, and then his 77 HX 308 Holden Statesman and both cars had that loose but at the same time, too sensitive steering that was unnerving to drive in comparison.
Gotta love a '69
