Here's my newest additions... Benny (the tri-color) and Jett (the black one). Approximately 11-12 weeks old, shelter rescues from the same litter, although they don't look much alike. The mom was a collie/shepherd mix, and the father was speculated to be a lab. They have excellent dispositions, endless energy, and certainly filled the void and silence left by Buddy, our ailing Golden that we had to have put down a few weeks ago. (see reply #26 earlier this thread)

Actually, Benny was initially named Beethoven.... we didn't care that much for it, even though he does resemble a miniature St. Bernard (for now), so we came up with Benny (based on the Elton song)... it just somehow seemed to fit!

Sorry about your Golden.

May I ask, did it shed much?  Why didn't you replace it with another Golden?

We've been talking about getting a dog for a couple years now.  I want a Golden, the girls want something smaller.  I want one cause I hear they're great with kids and what little I've been around them they too had decent disposition.

This is Buck, my Sheltie. Sadly he developed a brain tumor and had to be put down at age 15 about 7 years ago. He's about 12 in this picture. His favorite people foods were bananas and popcorn but he would eat damn near anything  ;D. He went with us on my dad's second deployment overseas, and also lived in Texas, NC, and Kansas. I plan to get a new dog for myself as soon as the weather warms up here. The black and white poodle mix is Oreo. He's my mom's third child, he follows her everywhere. He's a rescue dog from the Humane Society, and also the boss of my mom and stepdad's other three dogs (all WAY bigger than him). This photo is from our Christmas trip to Texas in 2002.

I have a couple of birds right now, society finches. Here are some pics of them, all the way back to hatchlings.

about 2 months after hatching.

Yeah, I did! The lil' sucker slipped under the door of the garage when I put trash in the cans.  :flame: He enjoyed checking out CB's interior, and slipping into the trunk since there is no back seat yet! The garage is quite cramped with two chargers in it so I couldn't open CB's door,............so I start calling him nicely a few times, and then MOMMA GOT MAD!!!! (I know, this NEVER works with cats!) :rotz: I went and got CB's keys to open the trunk, but I forgot he has no lock in it yet!! :brickwall: So the lil' FU*#ER just smiled at me from the trunk!  :RantExplode: :nana: I did manage to get him out! He did NO damage! (He physically can't spray either! Vet told us that due to surgery!) So no worries CB! BTW CB: Chilly thinks your ride is sweet! Meow! :smilielol:
