you know what , sell the car, there not meant to be stored. there meant to be driven. sell it to some one that will use it. not a museum or a ground up restoreation.  someone that will drive it. thats what they where made for. Rene
I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

And the nose cone was damaged when? When you were unloading it after purchasing it?

daytonalo

I cant believe you are going to leave this car outside ! This time listen to your friends , get it properly insured! Keep in mind they wont pay out a claim if you don't have it in a garage !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nascarxx29

Im aware of that we are working on getting in it a better situation .Or finding it a new home if necessary .This wrecked superbird was mine also was covered by all those policies .And I still came up empty handed

Give me 24 hours and I can be on my way to NJ to pick it up to store it here in Indiana in a garage for you for free if you'd like.

Exactly.....

Ghoste

Who is that fellow in Kentucky with the lime green Superbird that drives it all the time?  Man I love that car.  He has chips and dings all over the front of the car and a spot worn on the drivers door from hanging his arm out the window.  It's a car that has been loved.

Rick Edwards.  He's the original owner of the car.  It's a 6-pack with a 4-speed.

69_500

And that car has been driven since new. Isn't he around 160,000+ on the car by now? I know its well over 100,000 miles.

He drives that car everywhere he goes for shows anyways.

nascarxx29

Rick Edwards car is also loaded with dash plaques. The car has gotten around over the years

Ghoste

I was parked next to him for most of the weekend at the Nats so I took a picture of the odometer although I forget now what it read.  When the pics come back (no I'm not digital yet) I'll let you know.

69_500

What did you think of his matching hat in the rear window, that says "Origional owner".

Or how the top of his drivers door is down to bare metal from driving all these years with his arm hanging out.

If you talked to him much you would easily realize he is definately a talker. Its hard to get him to stop talking once he gets going.

Ghoste

He wasn't talking too much this year but I've met him other years and I agree, he enjoys a good tale.  This year I think we maybe just weren't in the same places that often, our cars were together, but not us.

69_500

He does a lot of walking and talking to other people when he see's someone he knows. I know when he spotted my 500 last year and the year before I was at my car for at least 2 hours each time talking to him.

Ghoste

Lots.  I'm the photo dinosaur though so you have to give me a chance to scan them and post them.

69_500

You mean this Superbird.

gtx6970

Yep, Rick lives about 10 minutes from me.And Yes ,  He is definitly a talker.
Would you believe most of that is still original paint. Only the lower 1/4's , nose cone and top of the wing have been painted.
I've tried to talk him into taking the car apart for it's much needed rest and and restore it. But he sold his Daytona project last year so the chances of him parking the bird now are slim. Although he has 2 charger 500's as well. Both stuck (litery buried)  in the garage collecting dust.

Ghoste

And here I sit with my rusty fastback. :rotz:
