Well, as a lot of you already know it was supposed to been delivered to me already a week ago. What I didn't post here is this....

After it was all set up, the guy who was supposed to pick the car up, the contract carrier(to the main company) never showed up.   After several phone calls by me and my friend who has the car, We found out the driver decied to quite and head back to Ohio with out telling anyone including his boss who didnt get ahold of the driver til he was in Nebraska somewhere.   Me and my friend called the main contract carrier to see what is next. The carrier was VERY appoligetic and said they would do something to get me my car asap. That was August 12th.

Now today Aug. 20th....

:boogie: :boogie: My car was picked up about a hour ago (5:30pm Central time) in northern Arizona!!!!! They told my friend I should have it by tuesday! It's the last car on the trailer that also has a older Porshe and a Isusu Trooper on it. My friend said he took pics of the guy loading it on the trailer, so I will post them if and when he gets them to me tonight.   :boogie: :boogie:

If any one sees it, and sees 2 flat tires, I already know. Buck thought he had 2 he could put on it before they got there to get it, but didn't. No big deal.

Oh, ya, and one more thing......................................................

Yes I will have pics when they deliver it! :icon_smile_big:

I am using http://www.kiwiskarriers.com/ because I know a few people that used them in the past and had great service. $1,200. from Golden Valley, Arizona to my door a hour north of Milwaukee, Wi.. It's on a open 3 car trailer. I wanted it out in the wind to blow some of the dust and hopefully most of the big spiders off it. I HATE spiders! :oye:

It's amazing how a person gets tied up into one of these message boards.   I too, have actually been waiting for this day for quite some time.

I can't remember, is this the first time you'll see it in person?   If so, hopefully you two will still be friends. :icon_smile_blackeye: ;D   We need updates. :icon_smile_approve:

How soon for the red, orange paint?

Yes, this will be the first time I will see it in person. I had gotten like 20 BIG pictures of the car the showed a lot of everything. We will still be friends. Being this car has very little if no rust, the $1,500 I paid for it is worth it. As far as paint. At least a couple years as my income support my 2 boys who live with me too. So it will be a little this and that at a time.

Just have them drop it at my house, looking for body and paint work to do. More than likely it will hauled with in 2 miles of my house, all bright's was.

As far as the spider's, think they will still be there. ;D

Hope it all goes well.  Great deal for a solid car since they sure aren't getting any easier to find.

But remember, gas prices are about a 100% higher too now. The price went up $200. since my quote this Febuary. :rotz:

$1,200 is steep for shipping, but at this point who cares, the car is on the way to you and that's the good news :boogie:. I had to spend an extra $300 to get my Hang 10 shipped to me, but that's because it was almost in Canada.

Look forward to the pics. That looks like a very solid car.

MoparYoungGun

Jeez DCG, I was getting a little worried reading the first part of your post. I am really glad to hear it's finally been picked up, I'm sure you can't wait to get it :icon_smile_big: ! You got a pretty good steal on that for $1500, especially since it has basically no rust. Congrats, good luck, and keep us posted  !

Hell.... This was the cheapest I could find in 6 months of looking. That includes other companys list on the old DC board.. The avearge quote I got was for about $1,600 on a open trailer.

The carrier called me this afternoon. They will be here about the same time I get out of work tomarrow (between 4 & 6pm central time).

Glad you got somebody to pick it up. $1200. is not bad for today's fuel costs. Let us know how it works out with this company. I am asked all the time who to use. That is if I don't go for it myself!!

My buddy had a pick up arranged for another guy we both know.. (I wouldn't give this guy the sweat off my azz)!! He had to wait until the old owner had all of it in rolling stock shape.. Now it's been 2 months and the hauling company jumped the price up $400. from Michigan to Florida..

Now I might just have to go get it for that money!!!

I could only get these 5 pics because it was getting dark here at about 7:30pm already.

The 1st one is when they were just pulling in.

The 2nd one is when they were backing up to the storage unit where I now got it.

The 3rd is just the front valance on the trailer yet.

The 4th is while the driver was unhooking the straps.

The 5th is just off the trailer.

I'll get more some time this weekend.

Yup, $1,500 for the car, and $1,200 to have it delivered.   Total, $2,700.. Even the people who delivered it said it is a steal what I paid for the car. I should say too, when I opened the drivers door, it opens like a new car door yet. No sag, no creeks, closes solid with little effort too. And as can be expected, the interiour is so dry rotted, I could actually break the viynl off the seats like a potato chip :rotz:

congrats man just kiddin..

That's two spiders, they like to fight.  When I was in Iraq we used to bet on them for shi!s and giggles.
One of my friends was bit on his foot, got blood poisioning, and had to spend a few days in the hospital. Really nasty.  The movie Arachniphobia has nothing on these spiders.  They are mean, fast and jump like you wouldn't believe.

DCG, doesn't feel good getting your car delivered?!! Just like Christmas morning when you were a kid and ready to dive into the gifts! Nice Charger and Congratulations. A couple of new tires, a little elbow grease and you'll be cruising the boulevard!

I wish he would long as he...

didn't shave the door handles/locks
didn't put wheels on it bigger then 15"
leaves the interiour stock unless he would put a 4 or 5spd in and cover the interiour in black leather.
and no 2 tone paint job (not on a Charger, yuk)

But you know I'd end up with a Hemi anyway :icon_smile_big:

So if you guys will pay the Overhauling bill for me, have at it :D

Thanks for all the kind words guys!

It will be in and out of storage as I work on it. And during snow season of course.

To get it running...

A carb.
fan belts
gas tank needs to be cleaned out
misc. vacum lines
replace the lifters cause he said the were clicking when he had it running last before he started the 4bbl swap.
and some of the carb linkage & a battery.

There are no brakes either yet.

My friend went through the engine leaving the block in the car. I guess the main bearings had no scoring on them, so he left them. and he didn't replace the rings either. But everything else he redid. He said from the way the inside of the engine looked, he believes the car only has 66,000 original miles on it. Or the engine was babied for 166,000.
