I found this while surfing today; http://www.showyourauto.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=86
It doesn't show any VIN info, but maybe you guys already know of it? It doesn't look like it's cheap.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

dads_69

For a brown car, I like it a lot vs. everyday red cars, black green orange and the other colors that you see everyday. Wish I had the cash to buy it. Thanks for the info. and photos of it.

I  thank god I have a little talent , I feel sorry for a guy who has more money than brains when he buys a any muscle car for all the money and in a very short while the thing starts to pop ,crack , peel or whatever . I think your much better off in the long run to buy a hunk of shit like I did and either have it done or do it yourself !

Is that the one that Otis Chandler owner at one time? Love that color!

I think chandler 's car was an auto , I think I remember reading about it and they said it a 323 gear , therefore it would have been an auto car , I could be wrong .

69_500

Are you having a bad month here Daytonalo? Just curious. Its a great looking car, and I hate to tell you but none of these cars were "perfect" from the factory. Creative Industries could care less about the fit of a trunk, or the fit of a nose cone to the fenders. As long as the car started up and went out the door to a lot it was good enough.

daytonalo

I'm just pointing out that it is all in the details and it takes more than a shiny paint job to make a great car like you believe

One thing the owner does have correct, is the VIN. Do you have XX on your dash? How about a "J" in there somewhere?  :icon_smile_wink:

Hey you horses ass , I will complete my hemi clone in less than a year ! All I did was point out what was incorrect , so what is your f<<<<<ing problem . do you have a hemi daytona ???????????? Your right, we do live in America so we can voice our opinions. However just because we have the right to say what we want, doesn't make it right either. Even though there is a freedom of speech in this country there is a limit on that freedom.

Still a gorgeous car.

I really enjoy the rants, bullying, and no holes barred name-calling!
But most of all: I like the swearing! It's a real "mans world" here! (Unlike Moparts, which is the "politically correct, please pray for my dying brother/mother/sister/cat/dog/hamster" center of the internet!)

Ghoste

We're a closer knit (I think) group than Moparts, so whenever someone feels the need to get on a stump and wave their angry fist, we mostly understand.  I think if someone new signed up and dropped the f bomb every couple of words, we'd likely run him out of Dodge in short order.

69_500

Which has happend a time or two. I do recall some people getting a few f bomb's and getting away with it, but once it becomes every post then its a problem.

:iagree:

Ghoste is right on the money, but let me elaborate a bit more...

There's no reason to quash every little controversy that comes up, as we all have our "moments".  However, if controversy is all someone is looking for when they come to this site, please go somewhere else.  That doesn't mean we all have to think alike.  It is possible to disagree about things without being disagreeable.

With it being a "closer knit" group as Ghoste alluded to, a newbie coming in just to stir the pot is going to stick out like a sore thumb among the regulars.  Even the "regulars" who constantly stir things up develop a reputation, which colors how I personally view their input on other matters.  I'm here to learn more about Chargers -- and Aero cars in particular -- and to help others the way some have helped me.

I do not feel it stretches the truth to state that those who can contribute the most to a forum such as this are the least interested in all the controversy, name-calling, etc.  That statement is based on the large number of great people I have met over the years -- especially in the wing car hobby.  There are always exceptions,  but to me those just serve to "prove the rule".  If this were truly a free-for-all forum, I doubt it would be as filled with knowledgeable people as it is.  As an extension of that logic...  If we want to continue to build on our knowledge base, the way to do that is NOT to promulgate controversy.

P.S.  Dave/nascarxx29 - did you notice that the VIN on this T5 car was listed incorrectly on the Dealer Shipping List as a 440 car (XX29L9B)?  I have to make that correction to a "J" on my spreadsheets, although I would have been very reluctant to have done so without seeing the Broadcast Sheet or the VIN tag.  I also thought the car was pretty awesome - and it's probably a One-of-One car with that combo.  I'll look at the pictures a little closer next week when I get back to the office and my High-speed Internet connection...    Dial-up>>> :flame:

With that color combo.Id say it was Cal Andersons hemi daytona.I have info on it somewhere

That is Cal's old car.   The giveaway is the 15" hubcaps in the trunk, which is what the car came with new.  Those were on the car when it left Milwaukee.   It's had a wheel and tire change since.  The car has been flipped several times within the high roller community since he sold it a year ago.   He believes that Bill Wieman in Arizona owns the car now.  That would make sense given the photos are of a western landscape.

The last price I heard on the car through the grapevine was $895k.

Cal, the former owner bought the car around 1982 with a spun bearing, which explains why the current seller is showing the trans only.  It has running a correct date Hemi in it.  The car was painted about ten years ago, and finally finished in summer 2005.    People have picked at that car a little bit, but if my 440 Daytona was that 90% that nice, I'd be very happy.  That car stands pretty tall.

The T7 car in the Talladega museum is owned by Tim Wellborn.  To answer an earlier question, that one was the Otis Chandler car.  Tim bought it from Kevin Greene, the NFL player.

nascarxx29

The T7 412548 daytona which sold new in Ambler P car #118 on the ship list  that now is Tims .Was bought in the early days by a guy I know Don klump of Pa who i believe sold it to Greg Joseph .Who sold it to Otis Chandler. Then it found its way to Kevin Greene. And disapeared off the radar screen for a bit .And know Tim Wellborn has it There was also to go with that car a brown daytona a matching boat back in the day.The brown daytonas wing was molded together at one time. That car was at alot of New Hope PA car shows back in the day

Again for 895k my point was that is as-same the small details are incorrect , thats all that I'm saying . One more thing for 895 k the seller better include me banging his wife as part of the deal !!!!!!!!!!!!!

nascarxx29

Hi Hemi Geno the brown car as you said is listed not a hemi .But the buildsheet says different.Does is show a J or a L .On Sues newsletters showing the dealers and stripe colors. My friend has a 440 daytona and the cars undercarrage.Shows the hemi torque boxes. It might have been a intended hemi chassis on the line .But ended up with a 440.On another wingcar post and subject relating to a white on red daytona with a 426 .In Quebec Canada. The pictures show lack of the Hemi torque boxes. That are standard equipment on convertibles and are often found on the hemi cars .But getting back on subject to $895K price tag you would expect a perfect correct in every detail car.I Often to find this not the case. And if a very original low mileage car was studied and documented and used for restoration reference and had a upside down marker light and misc crayon marks on the firewall .Every following batch of restored car seems to carbon copy this unique detail. When this was a isolated incident to that particular car. Probably due to a individual worker or a car built on FRI.My car was built on a FRI AKA 606 and never had the holes drilled for the plastic retainer that holds the headlight vacuum hoses. On the original numbers stamped never been altered radiator support.

Free Speech out in pubic, but not in someone's private forum... This is Troy's site, aka his living room... He's allowing us the opportunity of utilizing this fabulous board. This would be akin to coming into someone's home and bangering them, THEN saying you have the RIGHT to do so because you're protected by the Bill of Rights... Unfortunately, free speech allows you the right to shoot your mouth off, speak your mind, and look as crude, uncouth, or dumb as you wanna be.

Personally, being an Charger board, and about CARS,  I can live without the rough language, references to carnal acts with sheep, mammary preferences, how much action you're getting, or would like to get.   It really takes some of the credibility away from the board.

I'm going to have to agree with Doug on this one.

Freedom of speech is one thing, but there is a time and a place. this is the place for talk of cars, and aero cars in particular in this forum. So comments of the others should be contained to the off topic area. Where I can scroll right past the topic without reading it. I'd rather just enjoy my aero topics and go on about my business.
