Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if the lock mechanism is the same for the console as it is for the glove box on a 69 charger

No. We had a thread about this a while back. I posted some pics of a NOS pair side by side. A glove box lock will work in  a console door if you are willing to drill the hole out a bit.
