Not sure if this is a legit observation, but I just studied the fender tag information for the hemi 4-speed C500 and V2 Daytona on ebay.... The Vehicle Order Number (VON) has a unique series of numbers starting with:

925*** = C500's
926*** = Daytonas

Is this the case?

Most Daytonas have 926xxx, but there are several that have 927xxx.  I can get you an exact count if you need, but it is more than just a few cars with 927.

Danny will have to chime in on the C500's though - although I had seen the same 925 connection that you pointed out.

I haven't seen any 500's without a 925xxx for the VON. But that is just in my observations.

However they don't count up sequentially like the VIN's though. They tend to skip around a bit.
