Thanks

Chryco,

So far this is the only one I can find on the subject.  It's on the same site as the oil fiter study by the knize family.

http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/engine.html

maybe it's on this site?

Ok I have my 440 good and broke in now.  I am going on my third summer since the build.  I thought I would switch to a full synthetic and actually was thinking of Mobil 1 10W30.  Should I add and additives this year?  Is there a better full synthethic I should consider?

Chryco Psycho

Mobil is a good oil , I use syntec

Brightyellow69rtse

my 400 gets 20-50 vr1 and a bottle of stp oil treatment, i refuse to walk into a chevy dealer after the pounding i took the last 2 times i went to one.. wifes caravan usually gets walmart synthetic lol last i heard it was pennzoil anyway. my 03 hemi i havent decided yet........Mike

Supertech oil is made by Warren Petroleum(isn't that chevron??)...They also make Kendall oils I believe. This oil will not cause any problems in a well-maintained engine. No, it doesn't cause sludge; sludge is an engine design flaw exasperated by lower-grade oil and poor filters

swiped from another site.   :shruggy:

discuss.

i think you missed the whole point about the important ingredients that are missing from modern oils ! they extend the life of the engine specificly flat tappet cams and lifters .it not necc. about the oil weight

I am going to run Castrol Tection Extra Diesel oil in my 318. It has a warning on the back that says it contains Zinc and Rotella doesnt have the warning,so the Castrol must have more.

I was reading on comp cams website that they do not advise running synthetic oil on flat tappet engines
beacuse it is to slick and the lifter wont catch the cam enought to spin in the bore thus flattening the cam,
but i have run synthetic many a times and my friend has ran it in his mustang for some time and niether of us
have flattend our camshafts. so im not sure?
