Anyone suggest the best place to buy new front and rear bumpers?

I was quoted "somewhere around $2000" to rechrome the front and rear bumpers on my 68 Super Bee.  That doesn't seem right!  But maybe it is...

So, if I go with repro's, who would you suggest I go with??

Thanks!!!

Man, that seems high.  There is a company that advertises in Collectors guide,  Mopar muscle and Mopar action and I think the ad says you send yours in and they ship you another rechromed and ready to install for $225 per bumper.  I know I paid $350 for front and rear 68 charger bumpers from good mark a few years ago.  your quote just really sounds high!

That must be the special gold plated chrome.

I bought re-chromed front and rear bumpers for my 71 Charger at Carlisle last year. $ 310.00 each, plus sales tax. I think they carry a  life time warranty.

WOW!  Even here in the enviromorontally Socialist Republic of Canaduh it doesn't cost that much.  You don't have hours of repairs or something that need to be done first before they can plate do you?  This was just for plating them?

I just purchased a set for my '69 Charger.  They were $285 a piece.  Made by Goodmark.  I was pretty impressed with the quality of the reproduction and the chrome plating on them.  They appear to be a lot better than some of the chrome bumpers I have replaced on Dodge trucks and Chevy pickups in recent years.

I'm thinking the guy who quoted this was part of the growing bubble in car restoration - after he told me the price he said "and we're booked through to August"...

Thanks for the leads on places to order new repro's.  I have since found another local company who says they plate bumpers so I can at least compare costs.

You might want to check out North Star Plating (Keystone) for a better price on repare and re-chrome work. My rear bumper including the bumperetts cost me $390.00 and the front was $350.00 including the bumperetts. They turned out awesome and looked better than OEM.
