eagle looks HUGE, never seen one up close, are they really that big or is it just the zoom (i'm comparing the size of the pine cones in the tree around it)

Their around 3 feet tall with a wing span of 6-8 feet, so yes there big.

Eagle #1 was far away, 1/8th to a 1/4 mile. Eagle #2 was closer, maybe 50-80 feet depending on where I was. I had to move around some to avoid branches from blocking his head.

I use the same camera for my moon photos.

Whoops, forgot the location. Badlands National Park in South Dakota. One of my all time favorite places.

ETA: There is a bird out there too (at the car museum in Murdo)...

thats really neat. did anyone see the shot of the moon during the football game from the dallas stadium sunday night?  there was a jet flying by and they filmed it going in front of the moon. a really cool shot. would love to see that one on alaskan ta's moon calander. :2thumbs:
