That's a wonderful old picture of the Monte Rio sign next to the old quanset hut theater. My step grandad owned the Monte Rio lumber company where, for several summers, I nailed pallets together for him @ .50 an hour. Happy to get it too. Oh what a joy that was.......as a young guy my rightful place was down on Johnson's beach trying to get laid. Freakin' pallets, never did get any poonany down there until years later but the split tails were mighty fine.
This was the era when Guerneville and Monte Rio were THE party spots for the Hell's Angels.
Way diff now.
FLY NAVY/Marine Corps or take the bus!

BananaDan

I took that in June 2006 on vacation.  It wasn't much of a wonderland anymore which was why I took the shot and went B&W with it.  I bet it would be neat to see what it looked like in it's heyday.

Same here, really cool!

This is Copper, a yellow Lab puppy who decided to take a quick nap in one of the parts-boxes at work last Wednesday. Of course, 20 minutes later, he wanted to play tug for the 43rd time in three hours.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
