Just purchased a set of 73 bucket seats on Ebay

They should arrive in a week or so. I have been wanting to swap the bench for buckets in my 72 for a while now. I contemplated aftermarket seats, but decided to keep the stock appearance of factory buckets. They will most likely need new foam and definitely new covers. They are black, I want them green to match the rest of the interior.

Is there a good quality die or paint that I can get to refinish them in green?

Can the foam be modified to add more bolstering for the seat back sides and the same on the seat bottoms? Is that something that has to go to a pro?

modify the foam, will require some foam sheets and glue. Not a big deal.

die or paint... I would simply replace covers. Covers got built in foam into the cover, so since you are worried about that, one more reason to get new covers.

Seats came in today. I am ordering new foam and covers from Classic Industries this weekend. They have a 20% off sale going on.

Looks to me like the passenger side seat track is buggered up bad, or is the wrong track for that seat. Cant be right for a 73 passenger side seat could it? Also the seat back latch catch, the part that has the loop in that bolts to the seat bottom, in the bottom pic, is broken. Need a new one of those.

Those tracks look nothing like tracks for a 3rd gen B body do they? I pulled up some picks from the 73 I used to own. The tracks on the 73 dont look like these.

Well there they are, the correct seat tracks.  Thanks Nacho.

I went to Classic Industries in Newport Beach, CA, yesterday and picked up new seat foam. The covers are on back order. Looking at Pro Fit Interiors website they list them and hopefully not on back order.

In the pic below on the side of the seat back near the top there is a bracket. I have not seen that bracket on any other seat backs from 72 or 73. I assume it is to mount the shoulder belt retaining ring. Since these seats came with strange looking tracks, that I was told were most likely from a later B Body like a magnum or Cordoba, I am thinking that these seats are not even from a 73 at all.

Tomorrow I am going to try and fit the new foam over the frames. I hope the frames are the same.

Something definitely looks a little odd. Hope for your sake they will fit. That bracket on the side will have to get tossed.
