Everything is starting to "come together" for the new motor. Looks like the machining will be done tomorrow or Thursday then it's off to Hemi John for assembly. The heads are done (Bent every valve except for 2). Looks like I have a date with the Dyno on Thursday of next week, then back in the car that weekend. She should be back on the road just in time to work the kinks out for Carlisle. I'll post the Dyno results next week...looking for high 500 to 600 HP. Any guesses? I went with a 4.15 stroker crank, Manley rods, 9.6cr Diamond pistons (477 CID), Cam motion custom grind roller cam (.592 lift, 245 duration @ .050, 109 centerline) and stock manifolds. Let's see who comes the closest!

I say 580 HP, 600 foot pounds @ 5500 RPM.......

589 HP, 620 foot pounds @ 5650 RPM
I have NO clue  ;D

Doug, will the new combo be dynoed with headers or the factory manifolds ? What kind of dyno...Superflow or DTS ?

Kinda hard to guestimate without head flow #'s but......Based on the cam specs i'd say 550hp/575tq all in before 6 grand.  ;)

Thanks Ron. The engine will be dynoed and tuned with the factory manifolds. I don't know what the make of the dyno is. The ONLY reason I'm spending the $$$ on dyno time is so I don't have to spend the extra time tuning by the seat of my pants...been there and done that. Like I said in my post when I blew the motor, I just got the carbs right when it all came apart. I must have spent 50-100 hours in and out of the carbs and "testing" on the street. I'm not going through that again, I want it dialed in from the start.

Smart move Doug....i like that it'll be dynoed just as it will be run in the car (manifolds)  :2thumbs:

This engine is gonna have a nice, flat torque curve (roller + 4.15 stroke).......a real tire killer !

Ok, then I'll say 551hp/574tq. :icon_smile_big: What do we win, a ride in the new monster?

If you have no vision or creative spirit, you can always fall back on the way the factory did it.

How come only 9.6-1 comp ?

1. That was the only piston available from Diamond for this combo (off the shelf).
2. I'm running pump gas and NJ is going to lower the octane level for premium gas  :flame: (thank you environ-weenies).

It's a street combo for a street car....The stroke will more then make up for the lower CR. It's only down 3/4 of a point from stock, that's not a whole lot considering everything else.

Bull...Sure, the one closest gets a ride in her. If I'm the closest the it will be the next runner-up. Transportation to and from the event will be provided by the winner (lol).

Doug,

You're kidding right?   :flame:  They are going to lower the Premium gas from 93 octane down to what?  This state is getting worse and worse all the time.

Nope, not kidding at all I'm afraid. The want to institute California emission standards....No premium fuel at all is what I heard.
