The 355107 Neil Castle car was the burnt ebay daytona http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4648210984&fromMakeTrack=true.
Some of these daytonas listed have a pedigree. To be in the hands of known nascar legends back in the the day.where and who ever has the remaining listed cars .Should be honored by the hands that particular wingcar passed through. And going by the the ones that had the vins omiitted on the rest of this page and at the the bottom of the page the.3 going to Frank W wylie I had the idea using the daytona shippment list that contains vin schedule production dates and job order numbers .And dealer number for cross reference. To obtain those missing vins not shown on this sheet.I do know of the last Frank W Wylie daytona shown going to the dodge executive garage. Its owned by a guy I know in my state.Which happens to be a very well optioned out daytona

Not a Nascar driver but Jacques Duval was a racecar driver in Quebec at one time or another. He tests cars every year and publishes an annual book on his findings/opinions entitled "Le Guide de l'auto". In the 1970 edition he tests a daytona which he claims was the personal car of Mr. Savaria. The following is the picture from that article.

That's a Hemi car too!

The article makes reference to a "car of golden color". Maybe someone here with impeccable french has a copy of the 1970 Le Guide de l'auto and can confirm this for us???

These were unique daytonas just by their owners.Look how the big willie 440 daytona comanded $250.000 by his recognition. What if you owned a daytona that shows it was going to Bobby Isaac

There is a bit of a difference between the Big Willie Daytona, and one that was designated to go to Bobby Isaac. Because the Isaac car that would command the money would be the race car, not a street car as no one really associates him with a street version. Now if he had driven the steet car a lot, and was more recognized by that car than the race car it would be different.

While I don't doubt that the original paperwork exists which shows the info posted in the WW newsletter, I do wonder if it can be taken as 100% fact.

I had that particular sheet available when Neil Castles was at the MonsterMopar show in 2006, so I asked Neil about that car.  He said he owned two Daytonas, both of them orange.  We know from the eBay auction that 355107 was white and not orange or red.   :-\  Doug S. also asked Frank Wylie about the cars that are associated with him on that list, and he did not remember any such batch of cars assigned to him or his department.  Soooo... :shruggy:

One of these days I need to sequester myself in the home office here with a case of Diet Mt. Dew for the weekend and try to make some sense of the Dealer Shipment list.  There could be some good/reliable information present, but not everything checks out.

Some of the cars that are on the WW paperwork. Do not show on the ship list for some reason?.Its hit or miss I guess? I thought maybe those type of cars were omitted from random dealer selection. And maybe given loaned etc to the racers as a promotion or for winning.I recall DR Don Tarr nascar racer was awarded a daytona.

Biscayne dodge did have a Daytona on the shipping list - 388183.  That same VIN is shown on page 22 of the WW Dealer Invoice list with the same dealership name (and with a V8X black stripe note too, which jives).  No mention of the Dr. Don Tarr connection though.

Pretty cool pic there, Brian...

That pic came out of a magazine called "autodriver".Had a VERY wide range of vehicle stories. One article they would talk about stanley steamers next page their comparing a stock boss302 mustang with a trans am prepped car.

Thanks UFO I have that same magazine but didnt have to look for it .From where I did recall Dr Don Tarr was awarded a daytona. Was in a small backpage article. It also may have been in a old newsletter

I just saw this thread, My car is 355107, showing that it was earmarked for Jim Foster. I just got my car two weeks ago.  Here are some pictures that I just downloaded from the trip. I don't have a nose, but I do have a wing. Someone made this one a 500 for a period of time. I purchased it from a friend that has had the car for 30 years in storage.

Yes on the 70 Charger seats. Not sure....must have been changed out. What do you guys think? Fender tag showed 6 way seats? But they are not there.

Z

nascarxx29

The other loaded out daytona a friend also has the 6 way seat. You only need the 6 way track mechanism to transfer to another pair of seats.Your fender tag code should read C62 for that option

Be glad that you don't own Neil Castle's 355107... it has had a hard life... but was sold on eBay before prices dropped.
