I received 8 pictures so far showing the preparation to re-install the rear window plug.  First four show the cleanup around the roof opening and plug edges to provide for proper weld and lead adhesion.

The other four show a test fitting of the plug.  On the last picture the alignment of the weld nubs on the lower surface of the plug and upper surface of the dutchman panel can be seen...

Blue Thunder's W23 "Recall" wheels are being shipped to me today... should arrive late next week.

Below is a picture from MagnumCharger's thread on the Hemi C500 in Canada... it has the W23 "Recall" wheels on it.   :drool5:

Can someone "photoshop" out the Hemi door badge & make it B5 Blue with a black C500 stripe...  I need a boost to keep shoveling money into it...  :P  :eek2:

here is another car

Neat car, but it has the wheels without trim rings.  At this rate all the C500s will end up with the W23 wheels even though most (if not all) were built AFTER the recall date...   :scratchchin:

I forgot to tell you wayne put the road warriors on his 500 last week .  The trim rings that came with them are junk , He couldnt get them to mount and they are only held on with like 4 mounting points .  So he got some GM 15 inch trim rings and they fit right on and hold great . They had like little finger that go all the way around the trim ring and hold great .

Hey Allen,
Not to get to far off the wheel subject here, but have you given any thought to what you are going to do about your leaf springs? You may not have thought this far ahead yet but I need to replace them on my Road Runner. They're sagging so I'm leaning towards new rather than rebuild. I was thinking ESPO or Eaton. I'd appreciate your thoughts.

I will try to use the supplied trim rings, but may need to go to a "Plan B"...  Do you have any close-up pictures of the 15 inch GM trim rings on the recall wheels...?...  Also, what was the original application for the GM trim rings?  Souns like the SW trim rings are like some of the 15x6.5 Mopar Rallye wheel trim rings, with four sets of three prong clips...

I plan to use new leaf springs on the C500.  Several years ago I bought a new set of "superstock" leaf springs from a friend after he decided not to use them on his '63 Max Wedge car.  He later borrowed them back, and they have been on his car ever since...  I might need to buy another set...  :P

Maybe someone will chime with recomendations...  :popcrn:

This is the 1969-only style of mounting tab... I'm fairly certain that the recall wheels used a similar mounting system, just in a 15" version and not quite as "deep" as the 14" version pictured here:

Jerry Narramore's Hemi500 at one time had 15" trim rings on his steel wheels that we're about 99% sure were take-offs from a set of recall wheels.  IIRC they had the 4 spring steel clip mounting setup just like the 14" road wheel clips in my pic.  I don't have any pictures of his beauty rings either installed or loose, but maybe Jerry, Danny L. (69500) or Jim M. (3--Daytona) have some photos they could post.

Are you shooting for a super-original look to your recall wheels, or just trying to find something that fits well and doesn't look too out of place?  Ya gotta think original 15" trim rings are going to be tough to find.

No need for original trim rings, but I assumed the ones supplied with the Warrior wheels were fairly close... are they just generic trim rings? ???

I would like them to have approximately the right finish, and look original at 10 feet... maybe I am expecting too much?   :shruggy:
