Mopar parts catalog shows  3 on each side plus a retainer ??? ( dunno what the hell retainer )... my car only had one on each side and I think ( pretty sure )I was the first removing them.

I parted out 2 73 and they were the same

The shims are to correct any flaw that would throw off Chassis/Suspension specs. I've seen some cars with none and some with 4. It just depends on the car.

the bushing kit I bought comes with washers about the same tickness as the shims so I did not know if it would take the place of one shim ,the washer that was on miy car was paper thin .any help would be nice :yesnod:

Say you replaced a K member and didn't install the bushings or shims, what would that do to your steering, alignment, etc.?

My son last replaced the K member in the Duster about 3 1/2 years ago and I don't know how it drove then (its been in the garage since 7/04) but it will barely go into alignment now and has bump steer issues.

I read this thread and went out and looked and there doesn't appear to be anything other than bolts, washers and nuts on it.

I know second gen chargers dont use bushings but dont know if dusters are the same way,you could look in a yearone or any catalog that carrys rebuild kit and see if they make bushing for that car.my 73 has slots holes where the bushings slide in on the front of the kmember. :popcrn:  wheres Nacho
