Hi all ,I want to change the cam in my 70 SE, but I'm not sure on on a couple of things. hopefuly someone can help.
It' a 1970 383 Hp moter... would it be internal or external ballance. The damper dosent have a counterweight so I presume internal ballance. Can someone confirm ?
Also wondering how much valve lift I can get away with, without modifiying the heads, stock 906 heads , comp cams 911 springs, crane ductile iron rockers, 3/8 pushrods.
Would .524" be to much.
Cheers.

Internal balance.  Without modifying the heads, I'd also be first concerned with that much lift not being utilized.

Thanks ,Im looking at getting a cam and convertor.
Yeah, thats a good point about the head flow. If I look at cams with .500" or less valve lift I should be pretty safe do you recon ?
